Candidates Are Putting Their CJP Card in Job Interviews. Recruiters Are Divided.
A small but growing number of Indian job applicants are referencing their Cockroach Janta Party membership in interviews โ sometimes as a joke to break the ice, sometimes as a deliberate signal about how they see the graduate job market. People Matters surveyed 60 recruiters and hiring managers and found a near-even split: some read it as evidence of humour, self-awareness and cultural literacy; others see an unnecessary political risk. Employment lawyers add a warning for the second group โ screening candidates on the basis of perceived political affiliation carries its own legal exposure, satirical or not.
