CJP Now Speaks 12 Indian Languages — and Volunteers, Not the Party, Did the Translating

The Cockroach Janta Party's manifesto now exists in Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Punjabi, Odia, Assamese, Urdu and Bhojpuri — and not one of those translations was commissioned. Volunteers did them, unpaid and largely uncredited, then seeded them into regional WhatsApp groups. The News Minute tracks down eleven of these translators across six states and finds a common thread: each felt the Hinglish original spoke to a metro reader, and wanted their own parents to be able to read it. It is the clearest evidence yet that CJP has stopped being an English-internet phenomenon.
